Conflict!! A ride on the youkai subway!
Who: Mitsuya, Takuro
Where: The subway. No, not that one, the other one.
What: Riding to school.
When: The morning after Iwata's lesson.
It typically didn't take Mitsuya long to adjust to changes in her life, even those that led to her riding the subway with tengu, oni, and an assortment of other folkloric and less readily describable beings that were as removed from the humdrum of her old everyday life as... well, night from day. And sure enough, it had only been a few days, but she'd become accustomed to being the only human on a crowded subway car.
But now, today, it seemed she wasn't. Someone else was getting on right now, in fact.
Ah, yes. She recalled him from the old school building. Iwasaki, the experienced one with the demon. His very normality made him stand out all the more, it seemed.

This punk had the head of a shark, though, and gray arms sticking out from the ripped arms of his shirt. He was slightly taller than both kids. They were tattooed with mermaids in quite sensuous poses, and male dragons in equally sensuous poses. "You got some nerve showin' yer faces, humans. I can't believe we have to see more and more of you, specially during the troubled times of our adolescence! Each and every one of you needs a poundin'!"
The train stopped, and the seats pulled left and right to make some space for the battle.

Roll: 7
He leapt at the enemy and planted his foot in the shark's stomach.

That was abrupt. And considering how the train was reshaping itself to accommodate them, apparently this really was an everyday affair.
Not that Mitsuya had exactly been hesitant before now, but that particular hint from the universe didn't hurt.
Roll: 7
A strong wind kicked up from behind Mitsuya, aiming to hit the shark youkai while it was reeling and slam it into a pole (ideally an unoccupied one).

The enemy is stunned!
"Hell yeah!" a youkai with the head of a fly buzzed. "Now thisss iss a ssshow!"
"Man that guy's quite a wimp..." another youkai highschooler said, rolling her eyes. "My money's on the humans."

(Roll: 5)
"Last time I didn't initiate combat either-" The shark was jerked into the air and swung into the side of the car, "-but it was just as sudden. I think you can start a battle just by wanting to."
The shark was tossed to the ground in front of Mitsuya.

"Fascinating! Perhaps it's somehow psychoreactive?"
Not missing a beat herself, Mitsuya stepped aside and, before the shark had quite stopped moving, carried it up along with the wind. Perhaps she'd be able to make it to the other end of the car, or at least a nice, solid wall.

But the train didn't reform. Not until a smaller youkai stepped out from the crowd. It was about two feet tall, and appeared to be a shrimp-sized version of the other one, though it also wore a highschool uniform for whichever school they attended. "Hey! You can't beat my lil' bro around like that!"
Red letters appeared before the small creature.

Looking bored, Takuro reached out and plucked up the second shark.
Roll: 10
"Heh... you're a little lighter than your brother," he grinned, lifting his enemy up into the air and tossing him up once, as if testing his weight. "Are you going to be as much of a waste of time?"
He slammed the shark on the ground once, twice, three times before he lost his grip on the smaller shadow. The shark fell to the ground significantly more battered and bruised than he had started (73 HP lost).

Unfortunately, she was so distracted by her current ally that the breeze she summoned this time didn't do much more than ruffle the carefully preened mane of some youkai farther down the car. She smiled apologetically.
(Roll: 2)

All this while the crowd cheered. A train car-full of "aw yeah" "killer moves!" and one old lady youkai throwing her arms up and going "We want blood! We want blood!"
"I'll show you!" The small shark said as he fumbled up onto his tiny feet, drew his head back, and cast a water spell. Bright blue light surrounded him, focusing on his mouth, and-- (roll 1) PTOOEY!
"I spit on yas! Hah. How do you like that?"
no subject
Not bothering to waste the energy required to cross the distance between them, Takuro just reached out again, his shadow extending across the floor or the car.
Roll: 5
The shadow of his fingers wrapped around the shark and squeezed, distorting his victim's body briefly before it snapped back into form. (48 damage, 9HP remaining)
"Finish off this punk, Mitsuya-senapi."
no subject
"I suppose this may not be my forte."
(Roll 5/defense 9; 6 damage)

However, instead of that, it was as if a fireman's house had been connected to the small creature's mouth, and was firing out at the two teenagers.

Roll: 9
Instead of the expected vines coming up rapidly to shield them from the water there was... nothing. He didn't even have time to be surprised or react before taking a faceful of water.
The jet blasted him to the back of the car, where he hit the wall before crumpling to the ground, unconscious. (75 damage)

Roll: 8
And just in time, too. A blast of wind sprang up to redirect the jet of water away from her, splashing the majority of it harmlessly against the wall of the car, but still allowing a little through (12 damage).
It looked like Takuro's own attempt to shield himself hadn't gone nearly so well, however.
"It's long past time to bring this to an end." She brought up a hand and clenched her fist, and abruptly the air was sucked out of the area in front of the shark.
(Roll 8/defense 4/68 damage)

But so ended, the battle. The shark was yanked right off where he stood, flying towards Mitsuya, but without force to actually hit her-- no, he just rolled across the ground, a living cannon-ball that landed, unconscious, a few feet away from her.
Ding-ding-ding-DING! A subway announcement came, with the car conductor speaking over the PA system.
"Ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-TA."
Mitsuya and Takuro got 240 Youkai Yen.

Mitsuya offered an appreciative bow to the bystanders before striding over to the back of the car and, disregarding the concerns most might have about propriety, lightly slapped Takuro's cheek.
"Iwasaki-kun? Iwasaki-kun."
No response, but at least he was breathing. No doubt Iwata-sensei would know what to do about this, but there wasn't much she could do in the meantime besides see if he woke up on his own.
Getting him to school would be difficult, though... and right on cue, the "Ryuseki High School" stop was announced. Ungracefully, and with great difficulty, she managed to drag him out through the doors.
