Rumors [OPEN]
Who: Anyone feel free to make threads and hop between them.
What: Study hall for various classes.
Where: Library
When: A couple days after the event and Iwata's lesson.
Ryuseki High is a school that is neither too large, nor too small. The school has enough students that it is impossible for everyone to know everyone else, but it also isn't so woefully over populated that no one knows anyone else. This is the ideal ecosystem to breed the sometimes elusive and dangerous "rumors".
In a school like Ryuseki, the student body lives and dies on the rumors of the day. And there was no better place for those to begin than the shared study hall at the end of the day. Students were free to go to clubs or sports, but many found themselves speaking with friends in hushed tones, writing notes, and even a few more adventurous couples finding a dark corner to practice running to first base.
More importantly, rumors had been spreading through the school about evil disciplinary committee regents, angry idols, the wheel of karma, pathetic homeroom teachers, and funding being cut for clubs. These rumors were the lifeblood of the library, as if feeding some insatiable beast. There were rumors that students should be careful in the older sections of the library, where more rumors abound about falling bookcases and unexplained whispers.
At the front of the library sat a young teacher who seemed more interested in reading on the days celebrity gossip than anything else. She didn't even notice the mass of students who were playing with phones under the table or using the few computers set up to message friends. Every once in a while someone would speak a little too loudly for the teacher and she was forced to let out a loud "shhh!" that managed to quiet whomever had been the noisy one.
To regular students, it seemed like nothing special, just a place they felt comfortable sharing secrets ("Did you know Tanaka dyes his hair", "Megumi told me that she kissed Sato under the bleachers!"), while to others it felt more like they had to share these things. Surely it was nothing strange or extraordinary, right?

"Do you expect me to say 'aboogaboogabooga', Tanigawa-san?"

Instead, he had gone in the wildest of directions. And Ami couldn't help by tense up visibly, slowly tilting her head up at the boy. What was his deal?! What did he want from her?! She tried to respond but couldn't think of anything to say, she was just too caught off guard.

"I just like it back here!" she answered a little louder than necessary, overcompensating for her previous weak statement.

Takeo removed his glasses.
"I'm not on duty, Tanigawa-san. When I'm like this, I'm no different from anyone else, if everyone else liked the taste of power. What are you reading?"
no subject
"N-Nothing, it's none of your business!" Ami's wall was back up, trying to push him away.
no subject
At least, the things that were natural and he was supposed to pay attention to. He wasn't aware of the way someone, some book shelves away, was trying to yank out a book that was strangely stuck between other volumes. The excess force, the relentless effort, and a big of black magic sprinkled over the situation meant that when the book came out it went flying, and hit Takeo right on the back of the head, making him slam forth onto the table.
He didn't raise his head immediately, and just crossed his arms around his face to hide whatever expression he made.

Then the book struck Takeo out of no where, Ami couldn't help but snerk for just a second, before plastering her hands over her mouth. Laughing at him seemed like a dangerous move. This was the boy her friend Asami was always getting in trouble with, and could easily make Ami's life hell in school if she crossed him. But it was too funny, that another girlish giggle somehow popped out.

He folded his hands in front of him, posing himself in a very regal way, and ignoring the laughter.

And he brushed it off like it was nothing. Her laughter was gone, replaced by just pure confusion on her face. Everything he did was so odd she couldn't understand him at all.
"It doesn't matter to me, I'm only in the Drama Club because it ends early." She has to get to her Production Company's office after school most days after all.

"Some of us think about other things besides the school and how to terrorize the students." She knew she was stepping over a line there, and she even tilted her head up from her book to see if her words had gone too far.
no subject
He lifted his head, pointing at her. "You attack. In subtle, but prickling ways. Nay, you provoke-- on the defensive, but likely so as to take offense later. It's just fascinating behavior."
no subject
"D-Don't pretend to understand anything about me." She tried to put up her wall, but it was failing pretty hard. She didn't even know why she couldn't have just told him to go away, because she knew, a part enjoyed being around people.
no subject
Then, in a sudden change of tone, he got up from where he sat. "Shame on you," he decreed, before turning to walk away.
no subject
"I'm sorry, I just...I said things I didn't mean." Ami tried to stay quiet, but apparently her little apology was loud enough to get the attention of a few students who were sitting nearby. She wanted to shut up, especially now that people were looking but she was feeling like a jerk at the moment.
"Please, just sit down, okay?"
no subject
With a deep breath, he turned around--
"Hey," someone yelped from across the room, "Has somebody seen the peel for the banana I was just eating?"
For the record, that was the end of Takeo's elegant return to the chair. One second later he was airborne, his foot having stepped on the banana, and the next he was on his back, a cartoonish poster child for the idea of pain.
no subject
"A-Are you okay?" She had gotten to her feet and walked to the other side of the table, looking down at the unlucky boy on the library's floor. Ami even though to try and extend her hand out to see if he needed help up.

so sorrrrrry
"That..looked pretty painful.." Ami just stands over him, now feeling even more awkward that people are looking and staring and whispering things. Of course, Ami's more than a little self-conscious, and her mind instantly thinks they are whispering about her liking Takeo or some nonsense like that, and her angry starts to simmer..
Re: so sorrrrrry
And at that moment, Ami could've sworn that she saw something behind him. Just a fleeting image, a shadow that drifted away before she could put focus too much on it - specially since her brain began to tell her, over and over, that it wasn't worth paying attention to, not a problem, not her business...
"Let's just take a seat... Ugh, I'm sorry. Where were we? I admit the painful blunt-force hit to my back took out my concentration..."
Re: so sorrrrrry
Ami just took her seat back across from Takeo, and stuck her nose in her medical textbook again. If he couldn't remember that she was in the middle of an awfully embarrassing apology, she wasn't going to remind him.
"Y-You were asking me if I liked the Drama Club or not.." It was half-true anyway..
Re: so sorrrrrry
He looked up, trying to seem as sociable and polite as one could be while still dealing with the residue of some pain, still throbbing in his system. "How come? Is there no other club you like... or hobbies?"
