Who: Mitsuya, open to NON-magical characters
What: A little trip on the subway. Should be harmless enough, right?
Where: Outside the other subway entrance nearest Ryuseki.
When: After school on a Saturday.
The most unusual thing about where Mitsuya had stopped, digging through her bag with a puzzled frown, was Mitsuya herself.
Granted, one could say that about a lot of places, but the contrast was even greater than usual. This particular spot was almost aggressively normal to any observers, in fact, in a way that practically screamed "nothing to see here, shouldn't you be moving along, you've got better things to do than look at this clearly perfectly average location".
Mitsuya, meanwhile, with her peculiarly-colored hair in the elaborate plaits she'd put it in this morning, her formerly-regulation Ryuseki skirt with all its patches and additions in a myriad of colors and materials, and the peculiar-looking--walking stick? But surely it was too long for that, being almost taller than she was--that she was cradling in the crook of her elbow, looked like she belonged on the Scarlet Road, or in some fantasy manga.
But, as usual, she paid no particular heed to the funny looks she was getting, being too focused at the moment on hunting for the pass for the youkai subway that had somehow escaped her bag and, unbeknownst to her, was happily skittering away along the sidewalk in the strong breeze that had caught it up.

She looked around for the owner, spotting Mitsuya up ahead with a staff.
Senpai's so exotic, Satomi thought, smiling to herself. If one were to look at the girl, they'd notice her looking somewhat starry-eyed.
"Um, Araragi-senpai, I think you dropped this," Satomi called out to the older girl, gently waving the pass at her.

Ah, yes, and as for Satomi... Fortuitous indeed. She tilted her head slightly, giving the younger girl a curious look. "Are you, perchance, available this evening?"

To her credit, her outer calm didn't betray any heartbeat skipping on Satomi's part but she did coyly lower her gaze. Even if she did have plans, she probably would have dropped them anyway. Something told Satomi that any time spent with her senpai promised some level of excitement.

"I think," she said, lifting the staff to point it in the direction of the Perfectly Ordinary Spot, "it may be simpler for me to show you..."
And with that, just for Satomi, the veil lifted from the youkai subway.

Of all the oddities suddenly on display, the one her mind latched onto and wouldn't let go of was the rather mundane detail that the dimensions of the station were different now. It had widened a few meters on each side and in addition to the shuffle of humans in and out of the station were other creatures. Creatures she had wished with all her heart were more than make-believe but never dared to hope actually existed.
Satomi's mouth hung open and she stared at the youkai subway in shock. To anyone passing by, she would look utterly dumbfounded by the subway entrance. Her purse slipped off her shoulder unnoticed and fell onto the pavement.

Noel figured it was just better to walk away, but the fact that the purse was laying there bothered him, so he walked over to her carefully and picked it up tapping the girl on her shoulder.
"Excuse me miss you dropped this," he said in a soft tone, not even seeing the changes of the subway that Satomi was.

Oh, right. A boy was talking to her. She should answer him. When she finally looked toward the source of the voice, she blushed suddenly. She must have dropped it and he was giving it back to her.
"Oh! Thank you," she blurted out a little more loudly than necessary to the boy she didn't know. She took it from him and slipped it back onto her shoulder. Could he see the subway, too? If he could, he was faking a lot better than she was at the moment.
Mod check~
But behind her, within the subway itself, were a great many reasons she would soon have to change her mind.
Re: Mod check~
"Awoogah, awoogah," he said, in a manner of an onomatopoeia. He was coming out from the distance, trotting over until he caught up with the group-- as slowly as his little legs could take him.
Where did he come from? What did he want? Why didn't he make noise otherwise? Those were questions for another day, but there he was, right in front of everyone, putting his tiny hands on his hips.
"Alright, humans. What's going on here? Who did the THING?" he asked, in a particularly high pitched voice, big eyes trying to focus on them, though his pupils were, by biology, pointed in very different directions.
Re: Mod check~
He looked between the two women and paused. Was he missing something, he shifted some on his foot with his bag. "Uh I hate to bother you, but..um, do either of you know how to get to the high school from here? I just got to town and my contact sort of didn't give me good directions to her house, other then, 'it's near the high school.'"
Re: Mod check~
Senpai?

Re: Mod check~
Oh well. After a curious sidelong glance at Noel, to see whether he'd noticed anything truly amiss, she turned back to the guard. schooling her expression into one of proper solicitousness. "Is something the matter, sir?"
Re: Mod check~
"Oh, sorry, I thought I saw someone I knew."
The lie flowed easily off her lips and her expression changed from one of shock to a mixture of contrition and dismay. She lowered her gaze to seem as if she were suddenly bummed out about something. With any luck, she'd be able to diffuse things on this side while Mitsuya handled the guard.
"Which high school are you looking for? I may be able to guide you there," she said in a somewhat strained tone, giving Noel her seemingly undivided attention.
Re: Mod check~
Keep in mind, gnawing and baring your teeth is already an intense, if awkward, display of rage, but on a crocodile it gains a whole new level of menace.
"Don't you play dumb with me! You broke the illusion! Why would you do that?!" he demanded. "You must think about other people. How would you like it if someone went and revealed secrets of life to you?! What if I just up and came up and I was like 'Sanity is an island, and beyond it, lies knowledge and madness' Hm? HMMM?!"
He held up his small hands, clutching thin air.
"The youkai subway is a secret! Exposing us endangers us all! Specially you-- Now, WHO SAW?!" he said, turning to Satomi and Noel. "You saw, didn't you? BOTH of you!" he continued, unaware of Mitsuya's limited target. "Gonna have to go all polite brutality mode on you!"
Re: Mod check~
"To be honest with you, the boy happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, but in for a penny..." With a look behind her, a smile, and a wave of her hand, the veil was lifted from Noel's eyes as well. "No need to worry," she said to the pair, sounding utterly matter-of-fact about something that to them would seem insane. 'Knowledge and madness' indeed. "The situation is under control. Do help the poor boy out, Izumi-san."
Re: Mod check~
"How DARE you!" he told her. "That's it... I wanted to be good, but--"
He tried reaching for the police stick on his belt... but it was too down below as well, leaving him grunting in frustration. "Nghh... nghhhh... nghhh!"
Re: Mod check~
He reached up and grasped the cross around his neck, muttering a quiet prayer to himself as he stared at the creature. His eyes went to Mitsuya and then to Satomi, "You see that right? I'm not going crazy you see that ...that...thing right?" When he glanced at Mitsuya again he shivered some, "How are you doing that? This is a joke, first the larping guy, now this..."
Re: Mod check~
Judging from the boy's reaction and her senpai's words, she wasn't alone in having a whole new world just revealed to her so there was no more use for that act. The boy's shock and panic gave her the push she needed to regain the rest of her composure. If there was one thing Satomi did well, it was keeping a cool head during a crisis.
"I see it and it sees you, too, so please calm down before someone gets hurt," she instructed politely in a calm voice that seemed to exude authority, taking his hand in both of hers.
Re: Mod check~
He drew back, scandal giving way to a sort of nervous, unsteady anger. "T-That's it! I'm bringing you down!" he said, holding both hands up-- moisture in the air concentrating around them as balls of water.
BATTLE TIME

"If you'd like to try."

The crocodile flung the water from his hands, like a water balloon without the balloon, straight towards Mitsuya's face. (Roll 5)

Deciding this would be an excellent opportunity to exit stage left, she gave Noel's hands a slight squeeze.
"We should go. We'll just get in the way. Araragi-senpai knows what she's doing. She can handle this."
no subject
Splut.
The effect is not unlike a pie in the face, leaving Mitsuya's hair dripping, face soaked, and dramatic pose ruined, but leaving her otherwise unharmed.
She shook the droplets out of her eyes as best she could, and swung the staff before her to take aim, feeling her magic channeling through it and its through her as she let loose a blast of wind at the guard.
Who was currently between Mitsuya and an awfully long flight of stairs down.

"Wo-WOAH, WOAH!!!" the crocodile shouted as he fell down, rolling down the stairs, landing at the bottom with a particularly loud and almost cartoonish sound.
A moment into it, after some pained writhing, he got up on his feet, growling as he tried to start climbing back up. "Stupid short legs, ooohhh, stupid, stupid, stupid...!"

"Senpai, we should run before he returns," she called out softly. "This is our chance."
