"Manners precede such convenience. And, please, the tea is already made," Takeo said, turning to go pour the cups, but not before pulling out a chair for Akito. It was supposed to have wheels, but the sound the chair did as it scratched the ground, wheels unbudging, made it clear that it had long since lost its powers of mobility.
"I'm glad you came, in any case. I've had a bit of a run-in with our esteemed treasurer already," he said, turning to hand Akito his cup, properly dressed and with a folded napkin next to it, and a tiny envelope of some sugar replacement ("ZACCHARINE FAILY" it reads, with a picture of a fairy on it) along with it.
"As you probably know, the disciplinary committee is an important part of the school..." Takeo said, stepping around to his chair. "And our image is--"
The chair's arm broke immediately, and Takeo fell. Violently. Loudly. Then, in an amazing recovery, he stood up, with only a minimal amount of tea spilled, poker face on. It was the sort of stuff that makes people clap in solidarity. He sat down again. "Is, well, a bit hard to... let's say, sustain... what with the materials given."
